The Research Office provides advice, support and approvals for research studies in Tairāwhiti that impact on Hauora Tairāwhiti or people receiving care from Hauora Tairāwhiti.
Prospective researchers who are seeking to advance a research proposal and therefore need locality approval utilise the research office to identify and then complete the requirements for approval.

Requirements for registering a request for approval:-
1. Short form description of the research.
2. Evidence of HEDC approval.
3. Evidence of approval where there is an impact on Māori – the latter can be arranged if this has not already been obtained.
