Getting tested for COVID-19

RAT Community Collection: 

Please note there are RATs available at all clinics on the Coast.

Railway Station Drive-through Collection Site – Turanga Health

Days of Operation: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday (except public holidays)

Operating Hours: 10.30am to 12.30pm


Te Tini o Porou Collection Site  

Days of Operation: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (except public holidays)

Operating Hours: 10am to 1pm

Please Note: In case of bad weather, RATs can be collected from the main entrance foyer

We now need to self-manage our COVID testing and our isolation if we test positive. We do this through Rapid Antigen Testing (RATs).
Here are the steps involved:
Step 1: Make sure you have created a My Covid Record at
Step 2: Collect your RAT test from the old Railway Station at the beach end of Grey Street OR Te Tini o Porou on Huxley Road (Mon-Fri only) (only if you have symptoms or you are a household contact)
Step 3: Complete your RAT test at home, following the instructions in the box.
Step 4: Enter the results of your test (positive or negative) into your My Covid Record or call 0800 222 478. For instructions, see
Step 5: If positive, self-isolate immediately for 10 days.
Step 6: You'll receive a text message with further information.
