The Hauora Tairāwhiti pharmacy service provides medicines and medicines-related advice to people admitted to Gisborne Hospital. We work together with staff from other areas of the hospital to help people to get the most benefit from their medicines.
Only prescriptions that are unable to be dispensed from a community Pharmacy may be dispensed at Gisborne Hospital Pharmacy during the hours of 8am to 4:30pm
Anyone admitted to the hospital that would like to speak to a pharmacist or would like written information about their medicines can request one of nursing or medical staff to make a referral on their behalf.

People accessing our service may have questions about their medicines that they would like answered, or they may wish to have a written list of their medicines prepared, including when to take them, what each medicine is for, and any other instructions to help them get the most benefit from their medicines. They may also wish to discuss ways to make it easier to take their medicines, for example, blister packaging.
