Tairāwhiti has a completely confidential Community Clinic on 141 Bright Street (the building behind Farmers). This service provides free and confidential sexual and reproductive health services, including:

  • Sexual health screening and treatment
  • Cervical screening
  • Contraception with emphasis on long-acting methods
  • Free non-scalpel vasectomy
  • Immunisation
  • Transgender prescribing
  • Pregnancy testing, workup, and referral
  • Early pregnancy decision making counselling and care
  • Termination care

People can self-refer to this clinic or by referral by their general practitioner.

At all Tairāwhiti Pinnacle GP practices; if you are under 25 all of your sexual services are free. Women aged 25-44 may still be eligible for free contraception consultations and procedures (contact your GP practice to enquire). 

All medical consults are free, including sexual health services, if you are registered at any of the following services:
