Positive Wastewater 20 January 2022

A wastewater sample taken in Tairāwhiti on Monday 17 January has tested positive for COVID- 19.

This result was confirmed by the Ministry of Health yesterday evening.

There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tairāwhiti.

Another routine sample is being tested that was taken on Tuesday 18 January. Results for that sample should be known today.

With the imminent arrival of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 into the community we need to be vigilant to respond as quickly as possible.
