471 local active cases

There are 61 new cases to report today. Our downward trend in case numbers continued over our Easter holiday, with 75 on Friday, 44 on Saturday. 29 on Sunday and 53 yesterday.

This means we’re down to 471 active cases in our rohe. There’s one person in hospital. Kia kaha!

What we are doing is working. We can’t relax and let cases rise again. Approximately 80% of us haven’t had COVID yet:

  • Please continue to wear a mask whenever possible
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Keep a 2 metre distance from people you do not know.
  • Regularly wash and thoroughly dry your hands often.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow.

This week you can collect RAT tests without symptoms. Come down to the Railway Station today or Thursday between 10:30 and 12:30. If everyone has tests at home, this will allow us to identify COVID earlier.
